The Bentleigh Greens NPL Victoria fixture features a brand new home game time and kicks off with two clashes against newly promoted opposition.
With the full NPL Victoria fixture being released last week, the Greens have been working hard in pre-season as a new-look squad, headed up Senior Coach Petr Tichy, prepares for the season opener against North Geelong Warriors.
The Greens host the Round 1 fixture at Kingston Heath Soccer Complex on Friday, 17 February, at 7.30 pm.
The traditional Greens timeslot will remain in place for the first four home games of the season – against Green Gully (Rd 3), Dandenong Thunder (Rd 5) and St Albans Saints (Rd 7) – before our Kingston Heath games switch to Saturday 3 pm kick-offs from our Round 12 clash with Altona Magic.
The Greens are on the road for much of the first 11 rounds of the season, with just four games at home in that period, which includes a four-week run of away games between Rounds 8 and 11, with the Greens taking on Oakleigh Cannons, South Melbourne, Hume City and Port Melbourne in one of the tougher runs of the season.
Of course, the tough run of away games means plenty of home games in the back half of the season.
Between Rounds 12 and 24, nine out of the 13 games will be at Kingston Heath. Each of these nine home games will be played on Saturdays, with 3pm kick-off times.
The home-and-away season concludes with two away games against Altona Magic and Avondale FC.
The Greens await fixture details for the traditional Community Shield curtain raiser, which will pit the Dockerty Cup champions against the NPLV champions, Oakleigh.
