The Bentleigh Greens are delighted to see former senior goalkeeper Pierce Clark sign a professional contract in the A-League with Perth Glory.
Clark was a magnificent servant to the Greens as our #1 and leaves the club having been a part of our Dockerty Cup win 2022.
The shot-stopper enjoyed a brilliant season in 2022, including a run of games in which he did not concede for over 600 minutes in all competitions – a statistic that highlights just how crucial Clark was to the silverware won in 2022 as well as the club’s second-half of the season that helped secure passage to the NPL Victoria finals.
Clark was singled out at the Club’s recent Presentation Night for his commitment not only as a player but as a coach to some of the club’s junior goalkeepers, including goalkeepers from sister club Bayside United.
Clark has signed with the Glory on an injury-replacement deal, with former Socceroo Brad Jones still sidelined through injury.
Clark has thoroughly impressed his new coach Ruben Zadkovic in training.
“Pierce has come in and trained the house down,” he said.
“He has a real appetite to work hard and is striving constantly for improvement in his game.
“He is battle-hardened by a long string of games in the Victorian NPL and that resolve will make him an important part of our squad.
“We are delighted to have him on board with us.”
Perth Glory kick-off their A-League Men’s campaign at Western Sydney Wanderers this Sunday at 3pm.
The Greens wish Clark all the best at the Glory and thank him for his contribution to our club.
