Bentleigh Greens face Oakleigh Cannons on Sunday afternoon in the final game of the regular NPL Victoria season for 2017.

The Greens will hope to bounce back from the disappointment of losing against South Melbourne last weekend and losing the chance to secure a top-two spot as they look to confirm at least a home elimination final.

The last time these sides met was back in round 13, with the sides playing out a 1-1 draw at Jack Edwards reserve. Matt Thurtell cancelling out Goran Zoric’s goal for Oakleigh.

Bentleigh will look to build up some much-needed form heading into finals and a blockbuster FFA Cup Round of 16 tie with A-league powerhouse, the Western Sydney Wanderers.

On the other hand, this game is a must win for Oakleigh who need to win to secure their spot in the finals.

With the Cannons last loss coming in round 19, the Greens will have a difficult job in slowing down a strong run of form against a side they generally struggle to contain.

Bentleigh will have to be wary of Oakleigh forward Dusan Bosnjak who has scored 17 goals in 24 games this season.
