Bentleigh Greens have retained the services of former Melbourne City academy product Kai Adachi.
The versatile footballer impressed in limited appearances for the Greens senior team in 2022, featuring in the Dockerty Cup winning squad and deputizing in a range of different positions.
After leaving the City set-up, Adachi arrived at the Greens in the under-19 set-up, before quickly impressing and progressing through the ranks and making his way into the senior squad.
Adachi, who has played in both midfield and defensive roles for the Greens, said he was steadfast in his aim to break into the first team as a regular starter this season.
“Personally, I think the new coach presents new opportunities, not just for me but for everyone,” he said.
“We didn’t have a bad season last year, but I think there’s something to build on so we will want to go better than we did last season again.
“For me, I just want to be a consistent starter. I’m confident playing midfield, full-back, wherever they need me.”
