Zaparas Lawyers Match Preview: Greens head to Knights Stadium in search of NPLVIC points

The Bentleigh Greens will travel to Knights Stadium to take on Melbourne Knights on Sunday, March 12 in Round 4 of the NPL Victoria. The Greens will look to secure their first win of the season after a disappointing start that saw them lose their first three games.

Despite the less-than-ideal start to the season, the Greens have shown signs of promise, with Bentleigh creating a number of clear-cut chances – often more than their opponents – across the three games this season, but struggling to find the back of the net.

With the chances continuously being created, there’s a sense that the goals will have to start flowing.

Still, struggles in defence have meant that the Greens wastefulness in front of goal has been punished at every turn thus far this season, whilst some bad luck with injuries and suspensions have not helped the Bentleigh cause so far in 2023.

Still, the mood in the camp remains positive and the team is confident that they will turn their season around soon and secure a win against Melbourne Knights.

Like the Greens, the Knights will be underwhelmed with their own start to the season.

Currently sitting 12th on the table, the Knights are yet to record a win this season, with two draws and a loss from their first three games. In their last game against South Melbourne, they created more chances than their opponents but were unable to convert them into goals and lost 2-1

The Greens head into this clash determined to bounce back from their slow start and climb up the table, but to do so they will need to be the first team to earn a win at Knights Stadium in 2023.

Kick-off is at 7:30 pm on Sunday, March 12 at Knights Stadium. The Greens are urging all their supporters to come out in numbers and support the team as they look to secure their first win of the season.
